Dr. Irving Horowitz has been in practice for nearly 30 years. He received his BA from Rutgers College, his D.M.D. degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and his postgraduate training in Periodontology at the School of Dentistry, University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Horowitz’s practice concentrates on dental implants and aesthetic surgical procedures. Dr. Horowitz was a member of the first implant training program specifically designed for periodontists. Held in 1985 at the Medical School, Leuvan Belgium, it was conducted by Professor Per-Ingvar Branemark, the originator of the implant technique used throughout the world today.
Dr. Horowitz, a past president of the New Jersey Society of Periodontists, has long been active in academics. He has held the position of Associate Clinical Professor of Periodontics at the University of Illinois School of Dentistiry and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He is currently an Associate Professor of Periodontology at New York University’s School of Dentistry, Graduate Division of Periodontics. He is a member of the Northeast Periodontal Study Group which presents continuing education courses and training in periodontics and implanntology. Dr. Horowitz is an active member of many professional societies, including the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association, the New Jersey Society of Periodontics, the Academy of Osseointegration, The American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and the American Academy of Periodontology.
